a series of recent links..

shopnastygal.com: okay, i gave into the dubious facebook ads and finally clicked one. the fonts are pretty appropriately modern pop and i feel like this is yet another one of those overhyped sites with cheap-quality clothing that just happens to get the right trends at the right times. still, beware the dangers of viral advertising. my paycheck may be slowly disappearing into this black hole of asymmetrical cuts and ruched body suits.
teuxdeux.com: my new favorite virtual notepad. easy to use and great for charting out weeks on the fly. personally, i love how i can't delete anything i've told myself to do until i cross it off. :)
liebemarlene: a great, atlanta-based vintage fashion blog. she's got the nicest stuff on sale, and the prettiest photos! i wish she'd clone her photographer and give me one.
airplanes by b.o.b. ft. hayley williams: uhm. so cool.
doreshandmade: while the writing is all from her point of view, the majority of the outfit portraits are taken by the significant other in this wonderful husband-wife duo blog. i love the solidarity of her writing and i hope her much luck on her house search. be sure to check out her hand-made jewelry line as well!

we celebrated our chapter's international reunion day today with a sunny gathering at the emory alumni house. i wore my ruffled bebe top with a thrifted skirt and cardigan, paired with white peeptoes that cost $6 last season at kmart, believe it or not! the catch is that they don't feel as if they were made to fit human feet, so this afternoon was a lesson in herculean endurance.
Cole wore heeled leather laceups and a thrifted dress with a reverse neck-collar and the greatest button-up back known to mankind. i wish i had gotten more photos! my camera was having a panic attack due to atlanta's infamous sunshine, so sadly, the few photos i did snap aren't as great as they could be. do enjoy the selection, though.
and before you ask, hot coffee on a hot day? totally justified when you've spent the last two nights working back-to-back nights till 4am. at least i'm another step closer to owning this baby!

at one point, it got so hot that when i set my camera lens down, a poor little bug rested on it and sizzled to death! the poor bug life of atlanta. at least i had managed to save a fuzzy little caterpillar earlier at the luncheon from certain death-by-stiletto.

afterwards, i hopped over to the last accepted women's reception of the school year. a pretty girl there came up to me and told me that she recognized me from off this blog .. crazy! overall, loved my preview of the pre-frosh class and can't wait to greet them in the fall. congrats to the class of 2014 (or 15, or 16, or even 17+)!

finally ended the day with Cole and a good friend Skalnik on a quick trip to octane to see the third pecha kucha installment there. let me just go ahead and say that i am absolutely dumbfounded by the nature of science fair projects nowadays.
over and out.
