encore, encore.

The Boston, MA-based Passion Pit began as a one-man project of singer and songwriter Michael Angelakos to produce a Valentine's Day gift for his girlfriend. The gift, an EP entitled Chunk of Change, soon wound up in the hands of friends and acquaintances, who were enthralled with the work. Eventually, Passion Pit became not only a vehicle for the romantic expressions of Angelakos' heart but a full-fledged band -- at least for live gigs -- and opened for a number of well-known artists, including Death Cab for Cutie and Muse.

Flash forward to now, Angelakos and the ever-evolving Passion Pit band play to a sold-out crowd at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. A crowd that sees nothing wrong with singing along to every word; even several Manners selections, learned via osmosis by the second verse.

Catch the official afterparty for Passion Pit's Tabernacle performance tonight at SoundTable, hosed by OVERTHROW, where the eclectic Boston-based band will play a special DJ set only for those lucky enough to make it to the guestlist. Catch your fancy? Send in your nom de plume now at RSVP@THEOVERTHROW.COM or bring your concert ticket stub with you to the door for a discounted cover. As always, the event is 21+ and doors open at 10pm.
